B U R L I N G T O N     H I S T O R Y

The Burlington Hotel is one of the most modern and historical buildings in Worthing and was the first purpose built hotel in 1864. Previous guests have included Oscar Wilde. It was lovingly restored in 2002 and features a contemporary interior with a classical twist, enhancing the beautiful original features.

I N     H O U S E      D J 

Our in house DJ will contact you and is happy to meet and discuss exactly the playlist you want for your evening. He is available for the duration of your wedding and can play up until 12.00am in our restaurant or 2am latest in our club. DJ hire is £350. Alternatively bring in your favorite CDs and we are happy to upload them.

After your function why drive home? Stay with us for the night and you and all your guests will receive preferential room rates for the night which include breakfast. Please ask for a price list.

Weddings At The Burlington

The best thing to do is have an idea in mind of what you would like to include in your function. Then fill out the attached form and pop it back to us via post, email or fax. Our events team will then check availability for you.

DEPOSITS

You can provisionally book a date with no obligation for a maximum of 2 weeks. To confirm that you would like this date, a non-refundable deposit of £200 is required. Until a deposit has been received we may not necessarily be able to hold the date for you.

Once your date has been confirmed with a deposit, our events team will send out a confirmation and invite you to make an appointment to discuss further details.

FINAL PAYMENT

The final payment for your event will need to be settled at least two weeks prior to your event. We will also need any menu choices, final numbers and seating plans by this time. We are happy to take payments and menu choices over the phone should travel be an issue.

DECORATIONS

Some decorations can be supplied by us and any requirements can be discussed at the time of booking. Outside decorations can be delivered to the venue up to 48 hours prior and we are more than happy to decorate for you should you not be able to come in yourself on the day. The function room you have hired will be available an hour earlier than the start of your event, you can arrange a time with our events team should you need it ready any earlier. Any cakes or flowers need to be delivered on the day as storage of such items will not be possible.

After booking a function, our events team will be happy to answer any questions and queries you may have during the run up to the day. We provide you with a constant point of contact in order to help you organise your event.

While you are more than welcome to pop into the venue at any time, we do experience very busy periods especially at weekends meaning one of the team may not necessarily be free to help you without a pre-arranged appointment.

Wedding

Maximum capacity for sit down meal or buffet – 80 persons, standing up 120 persons

 • 26 Hotel Rooms, maximum number of guests able to stay 56 – we will happily help you allocate guests to rooms

• Food costs for children – under 5 free, ages 5 – 14 £15.50pp, over 14 charged at full adult prices

• Car Park Vouchers available from Reception for the zone B surrounding areas at £3.00 per day – see Reception for more info

• Gio’s Bar open times 10am – 11pm Weekdays & 10am – late Friday & Saturdays (subject to change) or 2am in the late night function room.

• Our house DJ is available for use in the Wedding reception area until 12.00am (charges apply)

• Book our Honeymoon Suite with sea views & receive a 10% discount on room prices for your guests.

• A PRICE GUARANTEE – once a deposit is paid, all prices for your wedding are guaranteed. Prices include service charge & VAT

• The ‘antique’ lift in the Burlington is unfortunately in need of extensive restoration. It is therefore not advertised as an amenity for the hotel & must be considered as ‘out of service’ indefinitely. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. The hotel staff are always happy to assist guests with their luggage on arrival & departure

 

T E R M S     A N D     C O N D I T I O N S

 

1. A deposit of £500 is required to secure your Wedding celebration date

2. The deposit is non-refundable

3. All menu choices will be required 4 weeks prior to your wedding day

4. It is your responsibility to inform us in writing of any special dietary requirements

5. All remaining balances to be paid in full 4 weeks prior to event

6. If the number of guests increases without prior warning (min 10 days before the booking date) the Burlington will try to accommodate them if possible, but accepts no responsibility for inconvenience caused

7. Any decorations, table & seating plans need to be with us 48 hours before your wedding day

8. Wedding cakes & flowers must be delivered on the day as storage of such items is not possible

9. Upon purchase of parking vouchers it is the buyers’ responsibility to park within the allocated zones

10. Beverages not purchased through the Burlington are not permitted on the premises

11. You will be asked to sign a full copy of our standard terms & conditions upon paying your deposit
