A Grand Old Lady - 02/12/2015

This hotel must have really been something in its heyday and even now manages to show some of its original grandeur. On arrival check in was straightforward, the staff helpful and friendly. We had booked a sea view room with breakfast at a cost of £100. Hardly expensive. The room was huge and when I mean huge I mean enormous. Containing a dressing table/desk,double wardrobe, easy chair, floor lamp, large settee, chest of drawers and a very very big bed. And of course a flatscreen tv and tea and coffee. Two huge floor to ceiling double doored Windows with views over the prom and sea. A beautiful ceiling about 12 feet high with stucco plasterwork. Breakfast was in the bar and was served at your table. It was ok but not outstanding. It made a great change staying here rather than the usual hotel chain room. I must add the bathroom was just as big in proportion to the bedroom. In fact the bathroom was as big as some hotel rooms I have stayed in
